The temps are dropping, the leaves are changing colors, football is back, new episodes of shows are beginning, and fashion trends are gracing the pages of my favorite magazines. It's Fall, y'all. This is my favorite time of the year (besides Christmas, of course). Because I'm totally in love with this season, I wanted to share what my latest obsessions are. Now, I'm in love with a lot of things and this post was getting super long so I decided to break it into two. Here's part one!
dark nail polish
Please excuse my terrible nail painting ability, I never did master it. Anyways, I am completely in love with dark colors on my nails. I waited all summer to wear deep purples, dark blues, rich browns, and classic blacks, and finally the time has come! This one is Partner in Crime by Essie.
new girl
Hope all of y'all have been practicing for an epic game of True American... But seriously, can we get some rules on how to play that game? For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, you're missing out. Season four of New Girl premiered this week, and it was hilarious, obviously. If you're looking to laugh uncontrollably, watch it. It airs Tuesdays on FOX at 9pm and seasons 1-3 are on Netflix for those of you who want to catch up!
leopard sneakers
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with leopard print. For months, Pinterest has been teasing me with pictures of leopard print sneaks, and I searched far and wide for these babies (because I'm really particular about what the print looks like). I found them at TJ Maxx and they're by Madden Girl. However, there are versions that look extremely similar to these at almost every shoe store.
charmed arms
I'm a huge fan of Alex and Ani. There's really nothing I can say to explain how much I love them. I'm also just really into wearing bangles though. For the most part, I wear the same necklace every single day, so playing up my look with bracelets is how I like to accessorize.
powerful books by powerful women
I've been reading my little butt off all summer and I don't intend to stop anytime soon. #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso and Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling were fantastic. So motivating and quite frankly, badass. Right now, I'm in the middle of Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg, and it is awesome! I really hate putting it down. The Body Book by Cameron Diaz is also pretty great. I try to read that a section at a time every couple of days. Next up on my reading list: Bossypants by Tina Fey. I've heard it's incredible.
long sweaters
Yay for sweater weather! Anyone who knows me knows that I love big comfy sweaters because I like to pair them with leggings and riding boots. I've gotten a few of these extra long sweaters in the past few weeks and I love them! So comfy. They're perfect for that weird Fall weather where it's cool in the mornings, really warm in the afternoons, and cool again at night.
taylor swift
Okay, say what you want to say about Taylor, but guess what? "Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate." Personally, I'm a huge fan of T. Swift's right now. Her style has been on point and let's be honest, Shake It Off is a hit. I've started listening to it every single morning because every time I do, I have the best day. No kidding. I don't know how much of that is just coincidence and how much of it is true, but I'm not taking any chances. Super, super excited to listen to Tay's new album, 1989.
menswear
Totally crazy over my new oxfords by Sperry Topsider. Menswear is huge this season and I'm definitely okay with it. Take advantage of this trend by wearing tailored looks, like boyfriend blazers and oxford collared shirts. Clean lines and classic colors will make you look refined, polished, and professional.
I told you that I like a lot of things! I just can't help it. This summer gave me a lot of time to reflect and figure out some things; what I like, what I don't like, etc. It just so happens that a lot of things ended up on the positive side of that list. Anyways, so that was part one.
Stay tuned for part two!
