10 Things

Who is this girl?

So, you're probably wondering who I am.
Here are 10 things that everyone knows (or should know) about me:

1. "As far as I'm concerned, leopard is a neutral."
I'm a HUGE advocate of leopard print.  I don't care what anyone says, leopard is a neutral, and can be used as a staple in your wardrobe.  Don't get me wrong, in no way should anyone be wearing a jungle from head to toe, but it's such a nice addition to spice up an outfit.  Meow.

2.  I watch entirely too much television, and I'm not one bit ashamed of it.
All of my friends make fun of me because I'm on a very strict schedule during the week, making it hard to have any plans with me.  But I mean, c'mon... Why on earth would I ever miss Scandal?!  Forget Thirsty Thursday, give me Kerry Washington, her effortless style, and intense drama.
(Love letter from an aspiring "Gladiator in a Suit")

3.  Speaking of women with effortless style, Kerry Washington is not the only celeb whose clothes I die for.  Lauren Conrad, Kim Kardashian, and Bethenny Frankel are just a few of my style icons.  And who can forget Jennifer Aniston?  Doesn't she get more and more beautiful the older she gets?  Not only are these ladies well-dressed; they are fantastic businesswomen as well, which is something I truly admire.

4.  My iPod looks confused.
From Lil Wayne to Luke Bryan to John Mayer;
add a little Beyonce and some Katy Perry;
and mash up everything in between -
and you've got what I listen to.
I JUST LOVE MUSIC.

5.  I was born in the wrong decade.
Yeah, of course I love the 90s (who doesn't?) but the 80s...
Now, that seemed like a good time!
If I could dress like Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club every day, I would.

6.  I'm a huge sports fan.  And yes, I understand them.

7.  I'm 100% positive that Friends was the greatest TV show ever made.
Sorry, but you can't beat Ross & Rachel's amazing kiss in the rain outside the Central Perk.
I mean, could that be anymore perfect?  *Chandler Bing voice*

8.  I can't function without drinking a Dr. Pepper every day.  It's like crack.

9.  Fall has got to be my favorite season.  I could wear boots and scarves every single day.  But Fall also brings in those warmer days, where cute flats and capris, or maxis and jean jackets can be worn, too.  It allows for so much versatility, which is perfect for me since I have "fashion ADD."

10.  I'm super excited to get this blog going.  I've been wanting to do it for so long, so it's great that I'm finally doing it.  I've been interested in fashion and writing for my entire life, and this is such an awesome way for me to share my passions and my thoughts.

So, there ya go - just a little bit of info about me!

The First One - Happy 2014!

Happy 2014, y'all!

I'm so very excited to start this year unlike I have started any other.  For the past few months now, I've been told by many of peers that I need to start blogging.  Even though it seemed like a really awesome idea, I've been extremely hesitant - I mean, why in the world would anyone want to read about anything I have to say?  The more I thought about it, I figured, why the hell not?  Instead of worrying if others will think I'm cool, why not just do something for myself?  So, here I am.

As long as I can remember, I've had two serious passions:  fashion and writing.  Starting this blog is a great way to combine the two, along with just sharing what's going on in this crazy head of mine!  I know that everyone thinks that making New Year's resolutions is silly and a waste of time, but honestly, what is so wrong with wanting to change your life for the better?  In my opinion, absolutely nothing!

I want to start this blog for a number of reasons.  First of all, I LOVE CLOTHES.  Fashion has been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember.  I like to say that my brain is continuous Pinterest board because I'm always thinking of what pieces will look good with each other, and where I can find the best deals.  A little while ago I started posting #ootd (Outfit of the Day) posts using my Instagram account, and that's when I started thinking about blogging.  I love sharing my favorite outfits and new trends with friends and family, and I think it would be awesome to share it with so many more people!  Second of all, I think it is extremely important for everyone to do a little self-reflection every day, so I figured this was a great medium to do that in.

Bare with me, y'all - this is my first time ever blogging, but I could not be more excited.  Here's to new opportunities and adventures, and an overall wonderful new year!

xx,
Lex
